Our Local Saints![]() Anyone is welcome to join us for worship. |
Keswick has been blessed by four great saints. They gather at the altar in the chapel. The frescoes are the work of Aidan Hart http://www.aidanharticons.com/ . ![]() St Bega was a 9C Irish maiden who may have settled and died at Bassenthwaite. St Mungo was a 6C itinerant bishop of Glasgow who preached at Crosthwaite. ![]() St Herbert lived as a 7C hermit who lived on St Herbert’s isle in Derwentwater. St Cuthbert (687) the famous Bishop of Lindisfarne was a friend of St Herbert. He travelled widely over the whole north of Britain – and so did his body in his coffin when escaping the Vikings. It may have stayed at nearby Embleton. Holy Saints of God pray for us! |
